Step 1: Arrest

Once arrested, the individual is transported to a local jail facility.

Step 2: Booking (Processing Into Jail)

After arrival at the jail, the defendant goes through booking, which includes:

  • Recording personal information

  • Fingerprinting

  • Mugshot taken

  • Background and warrant check

  • Confiscation of personal belongings

This process can take anywhere from 1 hour to several hours, depending on how busy the jail is.

Step 3: Bail Is Set

After booking, bail is typically set:

After release, the defendant must:

  • Report to bail bond office within 24 hours of release

  • Report to bail bond office as directed per terms of the agreement

Failure to appear can result in:

  • Bond forfeiture

  • Re-arrest

  • Additional charges

Step 9: Case Resolution

The case will eventually be resolved through:

  • Dismissal

  • Plea agreement

  • Trial

Once the case is concluded and the client provides the required court documents, the bond will be discharged.
